On April 10th, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, the Transport Minister of Malaysia, along with Deputy Transport Minister, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah and the Transport Ministry Secretary-General, Datuk Isham Ishak had made an inspection visit to East Coast Rail Link Project Section 1 in Tunjung, Kelantan. The ministers were accompanied by Dato’ Sri Darwis, the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Rail Link, Bai YinZhan, the Managing Director of CCC-ECRL, and other relevant officers throughout the inspection.
Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and his delegation had toured the steel bar processing yard, material storage yard and batching plant. They were also briefed on the current progress of the ECRL project.
The minister and the delegation highly complimented the standardized management of the project base camp and the efforts to overcome the impact of the pandemic to ensure every construction progress.
Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong also described conditions at the base camp “as a prime example for cleanliness, orderliness and safeness of a professional worksite for a major infrastructure mega project”, and appreciated MRL & CCC team for the efforts. He also hopes that ECRL project will continue to carry on with high quality and high efficiency.
